Brenda was born and raised in the Valley. She has three children — Manuel, Ximena, and Mateo. Prior to motherhood, Brenda gained experience in bookkeeping, management, data entry, and customer service. After becoming a mom, she wanted a career that allowed her to be with her children. She has been working in childcare since 2021 and recently earned her certificate in Early Childhood Education from Blue Ridge Community College. She will soon have also earned her associates degree in General Education. Brenda has been an ISR parent since 2020 and has grown passionate about the program and swim, leading her to start The Splash House, alongside Helena. She holds her certifications in First Aid/CPR, AMAT, and several Red Cross certifications. You will find her answering emails, calls, and posting on our social media. When she isn‘t busy with work, you can catch her and her children exploring new places or watching a Disney movie and eating snacks.
Helena was born and raised in northern New Jersey. She moved to the Valley 15 years ago to pursue her associate’s degree in Early Childhood Education. She resides in Broadway with her three children — Nathaniel, Gracelyn, and Zachary. Helena has over 20 years of childcare experience, most recently as a director of a local preschool and afterschool program. She opened Northern Valley ISR in 2022 after undergoing extensive training and has been helping families and their children, in the water, since. She holds her certifications in First Aid/CPR, lifeguarding, MAT, ISR, along with several Red Cross water safety certifications. Helena will help coordinate our programs as well as continue to teach. When she is not in the water, you can catch her at local family activities with her children or watching sports.
Hi! I’m Coach Lana. I’m currently in my sophomore year at JMU working towards my bachelor’s in Forensic Psychology. I’ve been a certified lifeguard for four years and a certified swim instructor for two years. When I’m not at the pool, I babysit and have formed a great bond with many parents and children over the years — both in and out of the pool. In my spare time, I enjoy cooking, watching true crime documentaries, and spending time with friends. I’m so excited to work with you all in the pool!
I'm a person who likes to make people happy. I try to make everyone feel that they belong. I am a perfectionist when it comes to work and I try to be a great example so others follow safety rules. I am a competitive swimmer and a certfied lifeguard coming to The Splash House with prior experience. I speak Spanish and hope to help everyone that I can.
Hi! I’m Annika Skjoldal, a certified lifeguard and front desk team member at The Splash House. I’m currently a junior at James Madison University, working toward a degree in Psychology. I really enjoy being a lifeguard and creating a safe, fun environment for everyone.
Outside of work, I often babysit and enjoy staying active by practicing yoga, playing volleyball, and exploring new places. I’m always up for staying social and trying new things.
I’m super excited to meet everyone!
